etmA meeting was held at the Ministry of Agriculture of RA on 1 April. A group of people having greenhouses were invited to discuss the export procedures of fruits and vegetables. Samvel Galstyan, Garnik Petrosyan, Robert Makaryan, Deputy Ministers of Agriculture, Hovhannes Hayrapetyan, Deputy Head of the State Service for Food Safety of MOA, RA (hereinafter Service), Arthur Nikoyan, the Head of the Phytosanitary Inspection of the Service were present at the meeting.

It was mentioned during the meeting that Armenia’s membership to the Eurasian Economic Union has given wide opportunities for the volume increase of the production and export of fruits and vegetables, as the procedures are simplified.

Hovhannes Hayrapetyan, the Deputy Head of the Service and Arthur Nikoyan, the Head of the Phytosanitary Inspection of the Service spoke in detail on the changes of the export procedures of fruits and vegetables, particularly of tomatoes. The fact that no document is required for the export from Armenia to the territory of other EEU member state country was highlighted. During the export the business entity is issued a phytosanitary certificate free of charge by the Service. The certificate is issued during customs registrations after the examination of the load by the inspectors of the Service.

It should be noted that during the export from Armenia to the territory of other EEU member state country the acquisition of a phytosanitary certificate is required for the loads of phytosanitary control of high-risk.

The representatives of the Service informed the participants that the phone numbers of the border control points of the Service staff are published on www.ssfs.am website, as well as they encouraged to call the hotline in any question (010 206040 ) assuring that their questions would be given answers in a short period of time.
