455 inspections have been implemented by the State Service for Food Safety of MOA, RA (hereinafter SSFS) during the first half of 2015, 442 of which were by annual and 13 not by annual plan. Administrative penalties have been imposed during the inspections and a fine of 29 million drams has been set for being input into the state budget and 45 inspections are still in process (the activities of 81 business entities have been suspended).
44 monitorings have been implemented during the accounting period 30 ones of which for assessing the requirements for storage conditions of the packaged food marking and for expiration date, and 14 for assessing the requirements for transportation storage conditions of animal origin food and veterinary expertise.
Compared to the same period of last year, the number of alerts received from the citizens has increased by 40% – almost 144 alarms. The majority of the calls related to the sale of the expired food, food marking and violations of the requirements for sanitary-hygienic conditions maintenance. The number of consultations given to the citizens and business entities by the hotline has significantly increased. 399 consultations have been given during the accounting period increasing 3.5 times compared to the previous year.
