From 18th to 20th of October World Animal Health Organization (OIE) Regional Workshop will be held in Yerevan. The workshop aims at increasing the knowledge of national coordinators in the World Animal Health Information System (WAHIS). This is the first time OIE workshop is being orginised in Armenia.

Delegates from 39 countries will attend the workshop.

The main purpose of the workshop is to provide information on the role of OIE national coordinators as well as the responsibilities of the veterinary services and other competent authorities.

The agenda includes issues on the animal diseases notifications, the control of animal diseases and the report on the status of animal diseases to OIE as well.

Issues on OIE functions are also planned to be discussed during the workshop: providing tools for improving the quality of animal diseases notification, usage and access of “WAHIS”system, improving knowledge regarding notification on OIE animal health Codes, update of the procedure of animal diseases notification via “WAHIS” system.

“WAHIS”system is intended to increase the efficiency of management facilitating the control of animal diseases and ensuring the safety of animal origin food in national, regional and international levels.
