On 14 of July, by the initiative of the State Service for Food Safety of MOA of RA (hereinafter referred as the Service) a meeting was organized with the business operators engaged in the production of non-alcoholic sparkling beverages. “Armenia’s Consumers’ Association” NGO chairman Armen Poghosyan was present at the meeting as well. The subject of discussion was the elimination of violations and the development of the market of non-alcoholic beverages.

The participants highly appreciated the trilateral cooperation between the Service, NGO and producers and highlighted the effectiveness thereof. The representatives of the Service mentioned the importance of conscientious activity in accordance with the established norms in all production stages. Likewise, the business operators were introduced the most important safety criteria, in particular control of the water used in the production, ingredients of non-alcoholic sparkling beverages (they should comply with the required standards), container (bottles, which are filled with drinks), which should comply with safety standards, permission for bottling, certificate of compliance, sanitary hygienic norms of the premises and the staff, etc.

Common non compliances and shortcomings, the reasons thereof, their possible and prompt solutions were discussed during the meeting. Instructions were given correspondingly.

Arrangements were made on the upcoming steps: the business operators should submit the inventory of their production lines within the next week. Having tasked this, the Service will be able to analyze the gaps of the production processes, suggest solutions for them.

The Service will follow up the given instructions to be fulfilled in a timely manner and in case of shortcomings more strict measures will be applied.
