On 7th of November Armen Ayrapetyn, Head of the State Service for Food Safety of MOA of RA met Sergey Dankvert, Head of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of the Russian Federation.
During the meeting Armen Ayrapetyan informed his Russian counterpart on the implemented epidemiological measures for eradication of foot and mouth disease in the Republic of Armenia. Mr. Ayrapetyan requested the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of the Russian Federation to eliminate the temporary restriction of export of certain products have been applied by Rosselxoznadzor since 20th of January, 2016 to prevent disease from entering the Russian Federation. Temporary restriction of export to Russian Federation are for animals susceptible to foot and mouth disease, meat thereof and animal origin raw materials.
In the meantime, counterparts discussed the procedure of strengthening laboratory capacity (Republican Veterinary-Sanitary and Phytosanitary Laboratory Services Center” SNCO) in the framework of the intergovernmental agreement between Russia and Armenia aimed at ensuring new level of biological and food safety in Armenia.
