A meeting was held between Armen Hayrapetyan, the Head of the State Service for Food Safety of the Ministry of Agriculture of RA (SSFS), and Sergey Dankvert, the Head of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision of the Russian Federation (Rosselkhoznadzor) by the initiation of the Armenian side in Moscow, on October 27. The following questions were discussed by the offer of the Head of SSFS.
- The extension of the list of the operators that have permission for exporting fish and fishery products from Armenia to Russia, aimed at adding more operators to the existing list,
- Opportunities to export the products of meat processing companies to the Russian market and subsequent actions arising from it,
- Printing and implementation processes of single veterinary accompanying documents,
- Implementation of works for introduction of a single automated electronic system, issues concerning the system service and teaching, and organization of trainings for the specialists of SSFS at appropriate divisions of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision of the Russian Federation.
Sergey Dankvert highlighted the gradual development of Armenian-Russian trade relations and the notable increase of fishery products export from Armenia to Russia in recent years. It was suggested to strengthen the border control excluding the illegal imports, which is especially increased after the application of response sanctions of Russia. He also mentioned that a consolidated control should be carried out against diseases like African swine fever and FMD.
In the end of the meeting the Head of SSFS invited Mr. Dankvert to visit Armenia on an official visit. The date of the visit will be communicated via the diplomatic channels.
