Head of Veterinary Inspection of the State Service for food Safety of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Armenia, the OIE Delegate of Armenia – Hovhannes Mkrtchyan took part in the 84th General Session of the World Assembly of OIE Delegates held from 22 to 27 May 2016 in Paris.
During the event new approaches to the prevention, control and eradication of infectious animal diseases were discussed and new statements have been adopted on amendments and addenda to the Code of the OIE.
The activities carried out within 2015 have been summarized during the session and the 2016 Agenda has been drafted.
The issues related to the import, export, transit and the veterinary requirements of the veterinary products subject to control were discussed among the delegates of Armenia, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Republic of Lebanon, Islamic Republic of Iran, Russian Federation, Belarus and Georgia. At the end of the meeting an agreement was reached to make the above-mentioned processes more effective and simple.
