Armen Ayrapetyan, the Head of the State Service for Food Safety of MOA, RA (hereinafter Service), went on a working visit to Moscow on 14-17 April. In the scopes of the visit he met Nikolai Vlasov, the Deputy Head of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of the Russian Federation (hereinafter FSVPS).
During the meeting a number of issues on trade-economic relations were discussed.
The Russian side offered Armen Ayrapetyan to use all possible biosecurity and veterinary surveillance tools accepted in global practice including monitorings of epidemiological situation against particularly dangerous animal diseases, based on the geographical and climatic peculiarities of Armenia.
In order to avoid export restrictions from Armenia in case of any disease outbreak, the russian side advised to apply mechanisms of territorial divisions, which must be approved by legislation.
Russia also proposed to introduce a common information system, which will provide product traceability throughout EEU area. Such a system will increase the level of trust between the member states of the Union.
