On 15 April, Lusine Davtyan, the Deputy Head of the State Service for Food Safety of MOA, RA (hereinafter Service) met Elizabeth Richter, the coordinator of GIZ-CIM (the German Agency for International Cooperation) experts’ program in South Caucasus, Kosovo and Republic of Macedonia. Artur Dumanyan, the Deputy Head of staff, Armen Vardanyan, the Head of the Strategy, planning, methodology and monitoring Department, Arman Gevorgyan, the Director of the “Republican Veterinary-Sanitary and Phytosanitary Laboratory Services Center” (hereinafter “RVSPCLS”) SNCO as well as the expert Wolfram Pfahler attended the meeting.
The purpose of the visit was the assessment of the expert potential, as well as the detection of new directions and opportunities for cooperation.
Lusine Davtyan, welcoming the guests, highly appreciated the cooperation between the Service and GIZ, and hoped that it would be ongoing. She also mentioned that the cooperation was put on a sustainable basis due to the efforts of GIZ-CIM program expert Wolfram Pfahler, who is the advisor to the Head of the Service as well. The representatives of the Service thanked Wolfram Pfahler for the great work done in the Service, highlighting his contribution and support in the development process of “RVSPCLS” SNCO and in the process of the compliance with international standards. The laboratory work has been improved in the result, a useful manual has been created aimed at ensuring the quality.
It was mentioned during the meeting that in the result of cooperation “RVSPCLS” SNCO will soon have an international ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, and later will include veterinary and phytosanitary spheres as well.
Arrangements were made for further cooperation.
