ՀՀ ԳՆ Սննդամթերքի անվտանգության պետական ծառայությունOn 30 March and 1 April, the regular seminar-discussion on regional awareness and educational program on African swine fever in Eastern Europe was organized in Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan by DTRA (Defense Threat Reduction Agency of the US Department of Defense).

The representatives of Armenia, Georgia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan as well as international experts attended the seminar.

ՀՀ ԳՆ Armen Vardanyan, the Head of the Strategy, Methodology and Monitoring Department of the State Service for Food Safety of MOA, RA (hereinafter Service), Lilit Sargsyan, chief specialist of the Veterinary Inspection of the Service and Bagrat Khachatryan, Deputy Director of the Republican Veterinary-Sanitary and Phytosanitary Laboratory Services Center” SNCO “ represented the Service.

The aim of the project is to promote the implementation of control and prevention measures against African swine fever due to the increase of public awareness level.

The vision of the educational program developed by the international experts was presented at the meeting, after which common approaches, the effectiveness thereof and other issues related to the program implementation suggested by the group of DTRA of each Republic were discussed.

Several thematic meetings are scheduled during 2015, in the result of which the program of measures will be formed at the end of the year.
