On 30 March, a round table discussion on “Eurasian economic market without barriers” was held in Yerevan. Arsen Ghazaryan, the President of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs welcomed the guests. He mentioned that the round table discussion is aimed at discussing the problems of RA membership to the Eurasian Economic Union (hereinafter EEU) which arose during the transition phase. RA Deputy Prime Minister Vache Gabrielyan, Minister of International Economic Integration and Reforms and a member of EEU commission greeted the guests and mentioned that Armenia has adopted a liberal approach in the market sector based on the market peculiarities typical to small countries.
The reports summarized by the Minister Karine Minasyan, a member of the EEU Commission Board who noted that EEU initiates to create favorable conditions for Armenian entrepreneurs.
The speeches were followed by discussions. Speaking about an issue on food safety and border control it was highlighted that the restrictions applied by Russia or any EEU country exist only in the territory of the country which applies them. This means that the restriction applied by EEU member state against any country can not be applied to other EEU countries, and the countries can import without these limitations.
