newsppAccording to the mass media publication, the chicken imported from Brazil, particularly of “Sadia” brand, may contain high level of testosterone.

The State Service for Food Safety of MOA, RA (hereinafter Service) hereby informs that the import of animal origin food into Armenia is allowed only in the case when the food compliance with the requirements for food safety is approved by the border control results.

Conditioned by risk criteria of food imported within border control the Service regularly carries out laboratory examination over necessary indicators.

In the result of laboratory examinations it was found out that the indexes of growth stimulants (including testosterone) in frozen chickens of “Sadia” brand were in permissible limits.

The Service keeps focused on the inspection process of risk containing food and will fully and strictly continue to implement the border control of the imported goods, providing periodic examination of risk containing food, and in case of violations by applying limitation measures defined by law.
