The State Service for Food Safety of the Ministry of Agriculture of RA (hereinafter Service) received a notification from the Ministry of Health of RA, according to which there are patients infected with brucellosis in Kapan Medical Center of Syuniq marz.
After the notification the veterinarian inspectors of Syuniq marz center of the Service visited the Medical center, spoke to the staff and verified that there are 17 patients infected with brucellosis at that moment. The inspectors were notified from the patients that they had been working in the slaughterhouse belonging to “Gyughart” CJSC which is located in the administrative territory of Kapan and implements slaughters of ovine animals. The slaughterhouse does not work at this moment.
An attempt is made to contact all those who had worked in the slaughterhouse for sending them to medical examination.
Activities are carried out by the Service to determine whether the source of infection is the slaughterhouse or not and which are the penetration ways of the infection.
