newsppAccording to the mass media publication of 25 February the state bodies of the Russian Federation created an artificial barrier to export live fish and seafood from the Republic of Armenia into the Russian Federation.

We hereby inform you, that the export of fish and fish products from the Republic of Armenia into the Russian Federation has been restarted since 2009. After visiting different fish holdings with Russian partners it was found out, that business operators engaged in fish farming fully meet the requirements of the Russian Federation. In the result of research 24 business operators received permission to export their products to RF.

Violations have been detected by the Russian partners in the result of border control and during trade in different periods. Therefore, some business operators were temporary prohibited to export. However, after correction of existing noncompliances in the holdings and implementation of appropriate procedures, in the result of joint activities the business operators have regained the opportunity to export to Russia. These are ongoing activities on regular basis.

At the moment 26 business operators have permission to export fish and fish products from the Republic of Armenia into the Russian Federation, but due to the detected violations 6 business operators were prohibited to export. However, the activities are implemented to eliminate the violations in the aforementioned holdings. After implementation of appropriate procedures the business operators will again receive an opportunity to export.

Be aware once again, that export of fish and fish products is an ongoing process. At this moment applications for export have been submitted by new business operators. No serious event has occurred, no obstacles are available. Armenian fish and fish products, which have acquired good reputation, continue to be consumed in the Russian market. Armenian live fish has a high quality and a big demand due to water of the mountain springs.
