The State Service for Food Safety of MOA, RA (hereinafter Service) once again informs that the temporary ban applied by the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of the Russian Federation does not refer to the processed meat and dairy products exported from RA. Opinions circulate in mass media that Armenia does not export cheese to Russia, although the Service recently published data on the export of Armenian cheese.
The Service assures that the temporary ban is not an obstacle for the export of any product from Armenia. After the imposition of the ban on 20 January, 408 tons 757 kg of cheese has been imported from the Republic of Armenia to the Russian Federation, compared with 123 tons 299 kg of the same period of last year.
Such a clarification was issued on 26 January by the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of the Russian Federation, informing that there is no restriction on the export of cheese and the ban on diary products not undergone heat treatment existed before.
