On 6 November, Armen Hayrapetyan, the Head of the State Service for Food Safety of MOA, RA (hereinafter Service) met Wang Shicai, counsellor on trade-economic issues of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to Armenia and Wang Shuzen, the first Secretary.
Armen Hayrapetyan, welcoming the guests mentioned that an active cooperation between the Service and the Office on trade-economic issues of the Embassy has been created, and there are all prerequisites to further develop it in new directions.
During the meeting the parties discussed the new plans of the Service and the steps for the development of laboratory capacities. Wang Shicai offered technical support as well as expressed willingness of joint training programs.
Export and import issues were also discussed. The export process of alcoholic beverages was also touched upon taking into account the fact that the control of alcoholic beverages has been recently authorized to the Service.
Stating that the potential of trade turnover between the two countries is quite large, including the food sphere, the parties expressed readiness to continue and expand cooperation in future.
